Rebecca Ordas

October 2020

Meet Rebecca, a mother of two teen girls and a front-line hospital worker. Rebecca is the Lead Physical Therapist at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and has been part of Scripps for 30 years. She specializes in care for patients in the ICU, including patients with COVID-19.
When the pandemic hit earlier this year, like many of us, Rebecca was concerned with the devastating economic impact it had on so many in San Diego. She also found herself with extra time on her hands, as her family’s usual busy schedule suddenly came to a screeching halt. Rebecca was thrilled to get involved in Miracle Babies first Diaper Drive in May and has since volunteered at eight of the events. She has even been joined by her husband Tony and her two daughters at many of them!
Rebecca has been grateful to participate in such a worthy and rewarding cause and has enjoyed the camaraderieworking with the Miracle Babies team and all of the fabulous volunteers. She also looks forward to interacting with the people being served, who are so thankful for the help.Rebecca says that participating in the diaper drives is the highlight of her week and puts a huge smile on her face (under her mask, that is!).Thank you Rebecca for what you do everyday and spending your free time volunteering with Miracle Babies!
