November 2020
Meet Justin Wu, a longtime volunteer for Miracle Babies and many other organizations. Justin was born in Bronx, New York, but grew up in Southern California and graduated as covaledictorian from UC San Diego. After medical school and medical training on the east coast and the Midwest, Justin finally settled down in Southern California. Justin has a beautiful wife named Bernie (who he met in medical school) and a 19-year-old son named Nathan who is currently a sophomore at Harvard University. Seven years ago, Justin’s family started a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Assistance for International Disasters (AID) and they travel 1-2x per year to developing countries where natural disasters occur (earthquakes, typhoons, floods) and help the local people medically.
Three years ago, Justin and his family started another 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Healing Little Heroes Foundation (HLH Foundation) in which they dress up as a Superhero and
entertain local (Southern California) pediatric patients (both inpatients and outpatients) as well as kids/teens with disabilities. Most recently, due to COVID-19 Pandemic, Justin and his crew
have been helping Miracle Babies with their Diaper Distributions around San Diego since May 2020, dressing up as DC or Marvel Superheroes, Star Wars characters, or Transformers.
